A bus of a leading travel company named Sai Pooja was attacked by unknown persons in the middle of Mumbai Goa highway. The driver got badly injured in the incident as the impact was large, as the bus was in speed. However, driver didn’t lost control over the bus. The incident took place near the Chiplun highway at around twelve thirty in the midnight. The bus had started it’s journey from Vijaydurg towards Mumbai at three thirty in the afternoon on 12th of september. The bus was loaded fifty passengers who were returning to Mumbai after the celebrations of lord ganesh festival. The bus was attacked by throwing big enough stones thrice one after the other by unknown persons after short intervals. The attackers used two wheeler bike to carryout this attack on the day of anant chaturdashi.
Passengers tried to call the main police control room but the number was unreachable. The bus driver then headed the bus towards the nearest police station to file the FIR. Initially he contacted the Highway police who told to get in reach with the main Chiplun police station. Initially Chiplun police station refused and delayed the process to file FIR. Some sources reveal the attacks on the bus are carried out by competitors. Also some say the attack was carried out by the ex driver earlier working with Sai Pooja travels. Another bus was arranged for the passengers by the travel operator which ultimately delayed the journey by three hours.
